Newmar Drives Innovation Forward with HOMAG

Since 1968, Newmar has become known for building high class coaches that define luxury and push the boundaries of the RV Industry.

The goal has always been to build motor coaches with features customers want. This drive to innovate has led to many industry firsts for Newmar.  Several notable innovations include the first powered and flush floor slide outs, fully painted exteriors, and wheelchair accessible Class A RV’s.

For Newmar, this continuous pursuit of excellence led Newmar to the cutting edge in sanding technology – a HOMAG Sander.

When it came time to invest in a new sanding machine, solid wood calibration and finish operations were targets for improvement.  

After working with the Stiles team to discuss the current sanding needs but also understand the possibilities, the solution Newmar choose was a HOMAG SANDTEQ W-335 RRH.  This gave Newmar the sanding units they needed to handle the solid wood calibration and finish sanding, but also includes the capability to sand veneer and sealer panels through the sander.

With two sanding drums and a third head with an upgraded chevron belt with magnetic segmented pad technology, the SANDTEQ W-335 RRH gave Newmar the continuous improvement they were looking for –  improving the sanding quality, reducing labor and delivering even greater capability than initially planned. Abrasive savings were an additional bonus which was realized quickly after machine integration.  

This new machine will also allow Newmar to sand some additional products as they continue to drive innovation forward, automate their production and advance their operation to better serve their customers.
