Altendorf Sliding Table Saws
Altendorf was born from the same spark of ingenuity that has launched so many remarkable companies. A German furniture craftsman, Wilhelm Altendorf, was dissatisfied with his woodworking machining tools. So he designed his own, a sawing machine on which the work piece was guided over the saw blade on a sliding table; thus introducing the sliding table saw that is the core of so many contemporary wood shops.
Since that development in 1906, Altendorf has grown to become the world market and technology leader for sliding table saws, producing over 5,000 saws each year for over 130,000 users worldwide. Seven of every 10 sliding table saws in the United States are made by Altendorf.
Stiles is proud to represent Altendorf, for their long history, for their commitment to excellence, and for their 100% focus on sliding table saws. We offer a variety of Altendorf SlidersTM, ranging from entry-level models with manual controls to sophisticated models offering features to greatly enhance throughput and operator digital interactivity. Other features across the product line include motorized blade positioning, crosscut miter fences, motorized rip fences, and incrementally adjustable speeds.
