A Partnership Built on Trust with Showplace Wood Products
From humble beginnings to huge success, Showplace Wood Products has grown to over 600 employees that manufacture over 700 cabinets per day.
Hard work and a hand shake is what has propelled Showplace Wood Products to their continued growth and success. What started in 1999 with a small group of honest, hardworking South Dakotans, has grown to a team of over 600 strong, and has helped Showplace become what they are today. With over – 900 dealers across the United States, Showplace has earned a reputation synonymous with quality and partnership by working hard, and caring about what they do.
The honesty, dedication and care engrained into the culture of Showplace has continued to drive the company and their employees to continually improve their product and further increase their quality to better serve their customers.
Selecting Stiles as a technology partner has long helped Showplace maintain the production and product expectations Showplace Wood Products customers have come to expect.
The relationship between Stiles Machinery and Showplace Wood Products turned into a partnership in 2015 with the creation of ShowplaceEVO – a new modern facility created from the ground up focused on frameless cabinetry.
This new state-of-the-art operation required best-in-class technology, but also best-in-class support to ensure Showplace would be able to keep their promises. The equipment package from Stiles Machinery included two HOMAG DRILLTEQ vertical CNC’s, two HOMAG DRILLTEQ CNC drill and dowel machines, two HOMAG EDGETEQ edgebanders, two HOMAG CABTEQ case clamps, a HOMAG SAWTEQ panel saw, and three Heesemann MFA 10 wide belt sanders – for calibration, edge break / cross grain removal, and veneer sanding.
“Stiles promised us the the best machines with world-class support and that is what they delivered.” – Bart Brost, Director of Manufacturing
The investment in automation has contributed significantly to the success of the EVO cabinet operation in all areas.
The Heesemann sanders put to work in 2015 performed so well in the EVO plant that in 2019, a second investment in sanding equipment was made for the Showplace Cabinetry facility – where face frame cabinetry continues to be produced. It was critical to address cross grain sanding scratches for stained product.
“The Heesemann MFA 10 brush orbital sander had solved the cross grain and consistency issue so well in our EVO plant, it was time to put that same technology to work in our framed plant,” explained Bart Brost.
This second investment in sanding technology aligned quality between the two plants, expanded capacity, simplified maintenance and improved finish consistency for the 550 cabinets produced per day at the Showplace Cabinetry operation.
It is truly with great appreciation and pride that both companies have created a partnership that builds on the shared values of each respective company – and continues to drive success forward for Showplace Wood Products.
